HOW TO BUILD YOURSELF UP IN YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH

One of the ways you can build yourself up in your most holy faith is by praying in the Holy Ghost.  As a matter of fact, it is one of the most powerful ways.  The Word of God says in Jude 20; But ye, beloved, building yourselves on your most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost.

Praying in the Holy Spirit is praying to God in your heavenly language (tongues). And the only way you can speak in your heavenly language is that you must be born again.  Trying to speak to God in your heavenly language (tongues) without being born again you’re setting yourself up for defeat and disappointment.  Once you are born again (meaning you have confess Jesus Lord over your life according to (Romans 10:9-10), the Spirit of God dwells in you immediately, not next week, or two minutes later, but immediately.  The moment you confess and truly believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead, the transformation take place.  God’s Spirit dwells in you right then and there upon believing and confessing.

The enemy has kept many believers from receiving this powerful free gift (praying in tongues) from God because they believe it passed away with the last Apostles. Acts 2:1-4 says, and when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (2) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (3) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. (4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Notice the word began… that means praying in tongues didn’t stop! It continues!

The devil wants to rob people of this gift because he knows you’ll never be defeated another day in your life.  The devil doesn’t understand this language. The devil has no access to your conversation when you’re praying to God in tongues.  One may ask the question, as a born again believer do I have to speak in tongues? No you do not, but you’re missing out on a powerful gift if you don’t! Praying in your heavenly language (tongues) has many benefits to the believer. When you got born again the Holy Spirit dwells on the inside of you.  The manifestation of the Holy Spirit is praying in tongues.

John 14:16 says, I will pray the father and He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. In John 14: 18, Jesus says, I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. In (John 14:26) He says, but the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Notice the word Comforter is capitalized in the Bible because the Comforter is God Himself (The Holy Spirit!).  ….Jesus said He’ll never leave you or forsake you.

Before I go on to explain how you can speak in your Heavenly Language (tongues), there are some benefits to speaking in tongues:

  • He (Holy Spirit) will build you up in your most Holy Faith (it stimulates faith) and keep you in the love of God.  (Jude 20-21)
  • He (Holy Spirit) will show you things to come. (John 16-13-15)
  • He (Holy Spirit) will lead and guide you into all truth. (John 16:12-13)
  • He (Holy Spirit) will empower you to be a witness. (Acts 1:8)
  • He (Holy Spirit) will reprove you of your sins. (John 16: 7-11)
  • Tongues are for spiritual edification. (1 Corinthians 14:4)
  • Praying in tongues is praying in line with God’s perfect will. (Romans  8:26)
  • Praying in tongues is a means of keeping free from worldly          contamination. (1 Corinthians 1 4:28)
  • Praying in tongues enables us to pray for the unknown (the mystery of things). (1 Corinthians  14:2)
  • Praying in tongues gives spiritual refreshing. (Isaiah 28:11-12)
  • By praying in tongues, you give thanks perfectly. (1 Corinthians  14:15-17)
  • Praying in tongues brings the untamed “natural” tongue under subjection. (James 3:8)
  • Praying in tongues helps us to intercede for others (Ephesians 6:18)

I will now explain to you how you can receive the “Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the Evidence of Speaking in Tongues” so you can be built up in the Lord and you will no longer be defeated by the devil anymore.  Praying in tongues will enhance your entire walk with the Lord.  You will be so built up in the Lord that whatever punches the devil throws at you he will not win.

First, you must understand that the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Day of Pentecost. You don’t have to tarry, plead, or beg for this gift. All you have to do is receive.

Secondly, the only qualification for receiving the gift of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is that you must be born again. As the righteousness of God you have a right to receive this gift. Acts 2:38-39 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call”.

Third, it is scriptural to expect to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues after the laying on of hands. Acts 8:17 Then laid they hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. (However, many people receives the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues without hands laid on them)

Fourth, expect the Holy Spirit to give the utterance but you must provide the voice. Acts 2:4 “and they were filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”.

Fifth, you must disregard any all fears that come from foolish teachings that said you might receive a counterfeit. God is Righteous and He will not give you a bad gift. Luke 11:9-13 “And I say unto you, ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Now ask the Holy Spirit to come upon on you and receive!)

… As a man think in his heart so is he.

… As a man think in his heart so is he.

Satan (the enemy of our faith) is after your mind. The mind is where you win or lose. The enemy enjoys putting all kinds of thoughts of doubts in your mind to keep you from reaching your destiny.  You have to keep your mind stayed on the Word of God.  When God made those promises to you – you have to hold on to what God said to you concerning His Will for your life.  You have to speak and declare the Word of God.  You have to say what God says about you.  As Jesus is so are we in this world.  As a child of God we are co-creator with God.  You and God are one.  You are made in the image and likeness of God.  You can declare and decree some things with your mouth.  Death and Life is in the power of your tongue.  You have the power.  It’s in your mouth. You can call down Heaven to Earth.  How you use the power is totally up to you.  Death or Life? –  Blessing or Curses? –  You choose.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

CHRIST PAID THE PRICE

Jesus went to the pit of Hell for all humanity. He didn’t just die for a certain group, race, or religion belief. He died for the whole World. John 3:16 says for God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He died that you may be saved from eternal darkness (the devil penalty). And on the third day He rose with all power in His hand and said; If though shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto SALVATION (Romans 10: 9-10) Christ came to give you life and life more abundantly. Your good works will not allow you entrance into the Kingdom of God. For you are saved by the Grace of God. For by grace are ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the Gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). All He asked us to do is Believe on the one He has sent. …..Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God that ye believe on HIM (Jesus) whom He (God) has sent. (John 6: 28-29). Eternal Life belongs to you when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Savior. HEAVEN YES – HELL NO….

The Indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit

The Spirit of God within us is a person, He is not an “it.”{*} He is more than just a mere influence; He is the infinite God residing within our hearts.  According to the scripture in 2 Corinthians 4:7 (World Wide English version) it reads, “This is something of great value within us, but we are like pots made of earth and clay.  This power is greater than any other power but it comes from God not from us”.

The Holy Spirit resides on the inside of every born again believer. He reveals Jesus to us according to John 16:13-14. The Holy Spirit is a Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, and Standby. (John 16:7)

Realize that there are enough resources in our hearts to meet the demand of every circumstance in which we will ever find ourselves.

{*} The reason why many Christians do not experience the power of the Spirit, though He actually dwells in their hearts is because they lack reverence.  We must trust the Holy Spirit the same way we trust Jesus the Son and God the Father.

  • The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you.

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 Paul said, “And my speech and preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power”.  When you give the Holy Spirit free course to move in your life, it is not about your ability (what you can do) or your intellect (how much you know), it is about being led by the Spirit of God.

Romans 8:14 states, “For as many are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”.  In order to be led by the Spirit of God, you must know God.  That comes as a result of spending time with God, developing a relationship with Him through the Word of God, Prayer, Praise, Worship, and Thanksgiving.

The Holy Spirit is a Teacher.

1 John 2:27 states, “But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you, but as the same anointing teacheth you all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him”.

Have You Received The Holy Spirit Since You Believed?

Acts 19:1-2… and it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”And they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

This message today is to assure you that this is an experience God desires for you to receive and enjoy.  The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for you today just as it was for the 120 disciples who received it on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 2:1-4… Now when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

In this passage it has been recorded of how the 120 in the upper room first received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  It says, “they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues.”  Peter says in verses 38-39 this promise is to everyone to whom the Lord calls, which means it is for you today!  God wants you to be baptized in His Spirit.

Acts 2:38-39… Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is something that God wants every believer to experience.  It is to be a major part of our life and fellowship in the Lord Jesus Christ as we are involved in carrying out His will and purpose.  We are not complete without it.  It is necessary in our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.  We all desperately need it just as much as these early disciples did.  It is the baptism of the Holy Spirit that gives us the power to carry out His will in our lives.

Acts 1:8…“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

There are people who have never received this wonderful gift that God wants to pour into you freely because they lack understanding and many believe it was done away with the last Apostles in the bible and that is not true.  This gift is available for the believers today.
